Day Twenty-One

May 17, 2012

I've lost 5 1/2 pounds since my last post two weeks ago.  I think I expected to have lost more by now, but that's okay. Really, it is.  Either these 5 1/2 pounds made a huge difference, or my body has somehow caught up with the scale, because my body is much different.  I'm wearing size XL shirts that I couldn't wear at ALL before.  One in particular is a Lands End man-style shirt that I actually tried to put on shortly before surgery and it wouldn't close.  Now it is loose except for across the biggest part of my belly and even that isn't "tight."  HUGE difference with not a lot of pounds difference.  So, it's okay.

Although I would like the scale to shift a little faster, I haven't been walking much.  I sabotaged myself by staying in the shower too long when I was miserable and suffering from nausea.  My incisions clearly got too wet and didn't dry well.  (The adhesive?  Maybe it held moisture in?)  And I broke out with a yeast infection which is going away but still present.  If I get hot and sweaty it flares up more.  So I'm staying cool.

Walking will probably help with the scale, and I guess I should start going to a mall or something, huh?  Anywhere that I can walk and walk and walk.  Hmm, or maybe the art museum downtown.  Or... or...

I guess I need to make myself do this.  Okay, that's a plan.  (Only today I have a bit of a headache and now that I've gotten down breakfast and protein I may go back to bed for a bit and try to shake it off.)

ANYWAY.  The other fun, good thing is that I have been sorting through clothes and my bags of clothes to go to the Salvation Army are growing!  My closet is thinning out!  I really don't have much in the way of small clothes.  Only a handful of XL and nothing smaller.  But this will hold me for awhile.

Life is great!!!!
