I had surgery on Oct. 10, 2005.
I weighed in at 391lbs. I can't even begin to describe the emotional rollercoaster I went on the months following my surgery. That was the hardest thing I dealt with. I didn't have any complications.
After about four-five months I overcame a lot of emotions by the grace of God. I met a wonderful man of God who asked me to marry him and we tied the knot on May 13, 2006 (just 7 mths after surgery).
Now I am 11 mths post op and weigh 193lbs. I have a different life style. Though I still battle with emotional eating, I (through the grace of God) manage to fight it off most of the time. To me, this has been more of a mental game than a physical one. I love physical activity and now that I can do a lot of it I love it even more.
My story isn't over! I have 58lbs to lose and I'm going to do it. My story will continue until the day I die. Whatever you are facing remember this: If we don't put effort in creating what we want, we have to put effort toward coping with what we get! Translation: You are either going to work hard at making life work for you or you are going to work double hard at trying to survive the mess you have made!
