Hi Julie...the new "do" and new picture is beautiful! (although I do miss seeing your little dachsie with you in the pic)...maybe the next one you can include him again. Did you see the other member's pic with her dachsie? I thought of you immediately. Hugs, Joy

Today is my 1 year WLS anniversary. I'm down 129 pounds and still losing. Though things haven't always gone as smoothly or quickly as I'd like (do they ever?) I can honestly say that I'm happy with the route I chose and would do it again. My surgeon is top knotch and my surgical experiences have been wonderful. Keep fighting your way to the finish line all of you, the benefits of losing the weight are worth all of the struggles and hurdles. ~Peace

Julie, You're doing great.....a small loss is still a loss and look how long it took to put it all on. I'm a slow loser so I have learned patience the very hard way. I wanted to tell you that if your Mom lives with you and you are her care-giver, you can talk to me any time you want. I have been caring for my Mom for almost 2 years now and it's a wonderful experience but can get very frustrating and tiring. So feel free to unload on me if you need to and remember to take care of yourself so you can better care for her. Keep losing and keep smiling! HUGS! Carol Percel

9 Months since my laparoscopic BPD with no DS and Dr. Patterson is pleased with my progress. I have had slowed loss in the last three months, but given the fact that I had another surgery in January (not WLS related) and a period of forced inactivity post op, that's not so bad. The old habits continue to rear their ugly little heads and the fact is I need to get back to forward motion.. that means going to the gym and getting my water in. Protein isn't an issue thanks to some wonderful and caring friends who gave me all of their spares and some who even bought some for me (I've been unemployed since November) so that it wouldn't be a strain on my tight little budget to buy it myself! Who could ask for a better group of supportive friends? So here is a SHOUT OUT to all of the folks in the support groups of Dr. Emma Patterson, and to EVERYONE who has offered up prayers and words of encouragement to me. NEW PHOTOS GOING UP in the next few days, look for the Webshots link in my FABULOUS profile (gussied up by Linda Armstrong, thanks Linda!) I wish you all God's blessing and peace!
