my DS pregnancy
May 17, 2010
This is my first pregnancy, so I don't really have anything to compare it to, but here are some of the things I've encountered during my DS pregnancy so far:1) I kept losing weight my first trimester. I actually reached my lowest weight ever when I was about 20 weeks pregnant. After that dip, the second trimester weight brought me back up a little. (So far I'm up 3-4 pounds from my lowest weight.)
2) After the nausea/morning sickness passed and I started getting hungry, I was eating ALL THE TIME. The smallness of the DS stomach was a bit of a hindrance here because I really just wanted to "fill up" and forget about my hunger for a few hours. Unfortunately that doesn't work with a DS and I had to schedule meals/snacks about every two to three hours. This is not a terrible habit to get into, so I'm not complaining too much, but I just mention it because I'm super lazy.
3) Even now that I've actually gained a few pounds, I still feel like I've lost weight since I got pregnant in November. I was comparing pictures of my face in November to pictures of my face today and there is definitely a difference there. My face looks thinner. Large tops (maternity, but still) are getting a bit loose on me. So while my belly and the baby have been adding pounds, the rest of me has continued shrinking! It's a little bizarre. I just bought a size 10 dress last week! (Stretchy, yes, but a size 10 nonetheless!) I was about a 14/16 in November.
4) I am starting to realize that after the baby is born, I can probably work on reaching my real goal weight. I had shelved the idea of ever getting to goal, but I'm starting to realize it definitely is attainable. I might even low-carb a little to get there!
