Hello... I'm 53 years old and I had my RNY on August 22, 2002. I'm so very thankful to my wonderful Doctor for giving me my life back. When I had my WLS there wasn't a whole lot of support or nutritionists who know we much about RNY or our restrictionsto. I weighed 425lbs the day of surgery and lost 247lbs, so I got down to 178lbs and I'm 5'10", so I was very happy with the results. I had polycystic ovarian disease, type 2 Diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and other co-morbidities that are no longer a problem, thank God! I had to have a hysterectomy in 2005 and gained 75lbs back pretty quickly, I settled for that until 2007 when I started focusing on my health again and was able to get it back off. I gain and lose, gain and lose 10lbs and have to reel myself in again... WLS is definitely not a quick fix and I will always have to keep myself in check. When I start slipping, I got back to the basics. Anyway, that's my story in a quick nutshell... Feel free to contact me if you have any questions!
