Stomach and Waistline

Hello!  I've heard that stomach and waistline goes down significantly after having RNY due to the fat that has built up around those areas before surgery.  How about with the sleeve. Has anyone found this to be a problem?

My stomach and waistline are the smallest they have ever been except for excess skin.  I'm having a TT next week to remove that (no lipo needed as there isn't any excess fat to remove).

Hi Liz -

I'm about the same height and starting weight as you were. I've already had two C-sections (21 and 22 yrs ago) so will be looking into a tummy tuck at the end of my weight loss. I'm in New Hampshire. Can you give me an idea of how much a TT is?  I know most insurances don't cover it.

Thanks so much!  Great job on your success!

No my TT is not covered by insurance. It is costing about $8500 total (surgeon, anesthesia, hospital).

For comparative purposes, I live in NJ and my TT cost about the same. 8500

My pant size has gone from a 22/24 to 18.  I can really tell the difference around my ribs and waist. I had the vsg.

I can't imagine this being classified as a "problem" lol, but I think everyone does, and if you're like me and are apple shaped (carry the majority of your weight in the midsection), then yeah, you definitely get smaller.  Depending on how much weight you have to lose to begin with, and how young you are (under 30 or so), will depend on how well your skin bounces back.  If you're old like me (lol 57), I have the hanging skin, and it's not pretty, but beats the heck out of the fat, so I'll take it!

Pretty sure this is something based on the individual, not the surgery type.
