Science of a stall - warning no science

I've come to accept a stall as my body holding water. Anyone have other explanations or evidence about stalling?

It boggles my mind that I can be 2,000 calories below my daily calorie burn and not lose weight for days on end.

So far I had 2 stalls

1 my 3rd week post op, then settled in at 4-5 lbs a week - decent given my size.

1 two weeks ago - I went 11 days with zero loss, followed by a 9lb loss over the last 7 days. It all averages out - but still boggles my mind.

Water is a major culprit during this process for sure.  But there are other possible factors to consider:

(1) Sleep - if you're cheating yourself here it will affect your weight loss.

(2) Some people have stall issues when their calories come from dairy or nuts.

(3) You need to be very sure of your overall calories also, small things add up.  Ketchup, coffee sweetners, etc.

(4) And, it's not all about calories in vs. calories out.  What a calorie is does play a factor.  Calories from sugar and grain can stop or stall weight loss.

Otherwise, the bottom line is people loose at different rates and metabolic issues play a factor.

My advice:

Google "Vinnie Tortorich" and learn about NSNG.  Also, read his book.  He's not selling anything, it's just his story.  All reading the book does is teach you that he's the real deal.

I have no science, but I have learned that complaining to my parents about a stall is a surefire way to break it ;)

I finally broke new ground moving into the 260 range yesterday.  Plus I had my annual follow up with my oncologist after undergoing surgery and chemo six years ago for colon cancer.

On my way home, I "celebrated" by stopping at In-N-Out and ordering a Double Double Protein style.  This is the first junk food I've eaten since my surgery.  I was craving it and just couldn't let it go.  It's 520 calories - holy crap

So depressed that I couldn't control my head, I ate a bunch of cashews during the day and had blueberries late in the evening. Convinced that I would gain weight and nix the progress I made, I didn't want to get on the scale this morning but did.  I'm down another pound.

Maybe it was the hour I spent in the pool working out, but I think it's god trying to tell me that In-N-Out is the key to weight loss.  I could be wrong
