Bill survived!
But in intensive care things went terribly wrong. Bill was in such horrid pain and could not breath that they put the tube back down his throat and had to tie him down. My big strong burly man looked helpless and almost dead. I broke down and couldn't take it. I left with my youngest son and stayed with them. I got 4 hours sleep and feel a little better. My middle son stayed with Bill thru the night.
Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers to get him this far. There were prayer groups going all over this US. Without your help he would not have survived.
I'm so happy and relieved for you! It's way harder on the family than it is on the patient sometimes. My Mom went through several lung removal surgeries (but with incisions from the center of her back to the center of her front), and we hated to see her in such pain. But you know what - she didn't remember any of it! The caring professionals at the hospital will make sure to keep your Bill comfortable too (as comfortable as one can be in a hospital bed).
Take care of yourself - you'll be the caregiver soon, and you want to be as strong as you can!
I'm so happy he pulled through but so sad for him that he had such a rough time. It is so hard to watch someone you love like that and not be able to help. Hopefully, they will be able to make him more comfortable and now he will start to heal. Keep strong and let us know how things are going.
We are thinking of you. Try to take care of yourself also! Glad you got some sleep.

Mokee, so relieved to hear this. I am glad you are a believer. There are lots of prayers continuing for you and Bill this morning. Thank God for wonderful sons too. You both have lots to be thankful for. Thank God for an amazing, caring and skilled physician. I am glad things are going well. Here's a prayer for a good day ahead and that Bill will breathe easier and get that tube out soon. Much love and prayers to you, Mimi
I'm am so happy he has made it through this, and so have you!!! Take care of you too, don't get run down and try to rest when you get a chance!!
