Help!! Struggling with pre-op diet!
Getting started and the first 2 or 3 days is the worst. Once you get past that, its not that bad. But it is very important to do it, so don't risk surgical complications because you don't feel like it. Everything from here on out is a struggle. Get your head in the game and power through it. This is where you start to get strong! Keep your eye on the prize.
I'm not even on liquids pre-op, and I still found it difficult to get on board. I think knowing that I COULDN'T have cabs as opposed to SHOULDN'T have carbs made a big difference in my head, so of course I craved what I couldn't have. I've gotten past that after a couple of shaky days at the beginning. Push through it. It's so important for your surgery.

My surgery was supposed to have been today and got postponed 3 days. I've followed my diet well and haven't been as hungry as I expected (AFTER the first few days), but today I'm starving!! I keep thinking I should be post-op by now and hopefully not as hungry! One more day after today, then the "cleanse" day of clear liquids. We've both gotta keep going, gotta keep going.....
It is best to just grit your teeth and get it done. The first three days are the worse. You do not want to repeat them by cheating and having to start over multiple times because that would mean going through the worst of it repeatedly.
I stayed home on my first 3 days because I knew that it would be hard and I would probably feel physically weak and evil.
Remember, everyone that has done it were people who were used to eating whatever they wanted whenever they wanted. I was a binge eater and I did it without cheating.
Do your best. This does come to an end.
