Got my surgery date...

My surgery is October 18th a week from tomorrow. This is the fourth day of my liquid diet. On the whole it's being easier than I thought. I must admit I think it's easier on me than my husband and friends. We always get together on Sunday's after church and my husband has dealt with for a few days but he says it kills him to eat regular food in front of me while I get broth or jello. My friends felt so bad last night. I told them it will be worth it in the end. They are all super supportive and feel so bad to eat in front of me.

I must admit that I hate the protein shakes. Every kind I have tried I can't stand. Ugh not enjoying those and having to force them down.

I weighed  yesterday and I have now lost 60 pounds. Woo hoo excited about that. I had plateaued for awhile, so glad to see weight going down again. Just 40 lbs away from having a 100 lbs lost. I am super excited about that!!!

Well any tips and advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Congratulations on the date and 60 pounds! I am only a month out from surgery, but it is so worth it. Those shakes are very sweet, and in my experience they got worse after surgery. I bought the Unjury chicken protein powder so I could still get the protein without the sweet. They also make an unflavored one you can add to yogurt or other drinks. And after surgery, you can use greek yogurt, cottage cheese, and other things that are not so sweet.

I watch a 7-year-old who told me he is so sad that I can't have chocolate cake this year for my birthday. I told him I have had 57 years of chocolate cake, which is enough ;).

Thanks, I will look those shakes up. I am such a pick eater that it makes things hard lol.

Congratulations and your doing a great job! The unjury chicken soup flavor really saved me from constant sweet shakes.

Congrats on getting your surgery date! I actually added a little table salt to caramel and chocolate SF pudding to cut the sweetness. Not sure if your able to have SF pudding but I was. Follow your doctor's recommendations for diet.
