Worth It
I've come along way since starting my journey. Topping the scales at 370 before RNY. I set my goal weight at 210 lbs. Currently I weigh 195 lbs. That's a 175 lb loss in a year and a half. That's just insane. BMI is currently 25.7. But it hasn't been an easy road. Besides recovering from RNY I've suffered a Petersons hernia, battled hypoglycemia, had gall stones and eventually gall bladder removed and a second Petersons hernia. But overall I would not be this healthy without having the RNY. I consider these just bumps in the road. If it wasn't for this I was on track or an early death. SO much healthier and happier now. Now my kids can look forward to having daddy around for a long time. Thank you soooo much to my surgeon, Dr. Hill, the nurses and staff from the Bariatric Center at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake, NY.
It's been quite a ride so far. The ups and downs both physical and emotional. Hitting plateaus and getting frustrated. This was my first surgery and I was a big nervous mess before hand. But I am so glad I did it and would do it again and recommend it to those who are contemplating it. Definitely a life changer and a life saver!
