Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow
You're never really ready for your hair to just up and fall the hell off your head overnight. Even if you've been thinning for a year and seriously thinning since RNY.
I dyed my hair. I used Garnier medium brown, which I used a few years ago; then my hair came out medium brown and stayed rooted in my scalp. This time it turned my poor thin, straggly hair bright red. A whole heckuva lot of hair came out in the shower afterwards, and the next day a lot more, and yesterday most of the rest of the hair on the crown of my head. There are a few Homer Simpson hairs left, lonely, blowing in the wind. I expect they'll be gone tomorrow.
The other product that might be responsible is Toppik scalp concealer. That is some horrible stuff. It clumps and doesn't conceal anything and itches. Do Not Buy!
I was hoping I could get by with wide headbands and long scarves, but hair is leaving my scalp all over, and with no hair at all even my nice hat collection will not be enough. A good wig is hard to find.
I guess this is my opportunity, if I can find a decent wig, to finally have that curly, auburn, romance heroine book cover hair I always wanted.
Boo hoo.
Oh, **** I'm sorry.
I dyed my hair once (well, many times, but this one time was really disastrous) thinking I would get a nice auburn. I got magenta with a green sheen. Lovely. Then I paid big bucks to get it corrected and ended up with 80s hair band blonde. Still better than magenta and green, but not the look I was going for.

I have obsessively scoured the Internet for wigs. I like the Vogue wigs site. But after awhile they all look like 1992.
My surgery was in April. I am royally ticked that I'm not losing weight, just losing hair!
Is that a wig in your avatar? It's gorgeous.
Yes: Might as well enjoy it, cuz it's happening.
