And I am freaking out. I sent in 90 pages to the DMHC. And I already can't wait for them to decide. Anyone out there have an experience with the DMHC in CA? Dr. Keshishian says I have a good chance (asking for band to DS revision- 49.5 BMI). But I haven't read much about anyone having success with the DMHC in CA. Let me have it- good or bad!

Totally off topic but you weigh more than what you first weighed before the band? Why do the doctors and TV promote it so much if is pretty much a route to failure like I been reading. Is it bc it is cheaper and requires less hospitalization?

From what I understand, it's much easier to "install." Because it's easy, fewer doctors can screw up. The complications come later. I was talked into getting Depo Provera and over the last year, even with the band, I gained 40 pounds! I'm sure it's not all Depo but, c'mon! I probably would weigh less if I DIDN'T have the band. I puke up chicken, fruit, veggies, pasts, whole grains, but I can sure down some ice cream- no problem! After I puke, I am STARVING so I eat whatever I can keep down. Viola! 40 pounds! If you're thinking of a BOB- DON'T!

Lori,

I cannot help on the insurance (I think there were 2 or 3 with the DMHC insurance on the DS board, though).

Just wanted to say GOOD LUCK!!!!!!

My fight??!!??  AAARRRGGGHHHHHH

Got my documentation back (finally) from my appeal denial.  I have already requested the next step which is a hearing.  And from what I have read in the insurance booklet, the hearing will be conducted at the time of the next quearterly board meeting, and that is sometime at the end of October.

More waiting........
