Well, it's on the calendar.  I've gone from over 420 to 180 and carried my weight in my waist.  So it looks like I'll be having my circumferential skin removal surgery on April 25.  I can't wait to get rid of this apron of skin (Dr. says about 25 lbs) but man the idea of the surgery is getting very real.  Anyone have thoughts I should keep in mind?  Tips, Tricks also welcome!

Note: I'm having the surgery done by Dr. Zinnsser in Richmond VA at St. Mary's.

Terry!  Nice to see you posting!  PS- pretty exciting--You will love the way your body looks without all that skinthatyoudon'tneedanymore gone.  Whoo-hoo for you!  A site I found helpful (posted by some other kind soul-thanks again) is at   http://www.dbreath.com/documents/PlasticSurgeryPlanner.pdf.  The only thing I have to add is that for the first few days I kept a clipboard log--meds, liquids, notations of when I would get up and move around every hour, protein/food, etc.  Time seemed to get away from me and I would lose track of what's what as it were.  Be patient and gentle with yourself.  Best of luck-heal well.  Bonnie

It's a private group that Tom started a few years ago.

I've been to a couple of consults but not really rushing to have any PS done since as one Dr. put it I "deflated well".  Could use a LBL and thigh job but truth be told not sure if I could do the pain thing.

I do understand. Every day closer my head asks why I would willingly do that to myself. But the mirror tells the tale on me.   I wonder what losing 25 lbs but no muscle mass will be like.

I had plenty of ready to drink protein shakes on hand. I was not interested in eating but my surgeon insists we get in 100 grams of protein a day for optimal healing. Drinking shakes was easier than eating. Toilet seat riser, but that is probably not as much of an issue for you boys. Unscented maxi pads to cushion my incision from the binder (much cheaper than gauze).
