Vitamin k???

Hey all had my surgeons appointment recently and he gave me a prescription for vitamin k he said its for before surgery...I kno I should have asked him but wasn't thinking at the time,what is it for? And how much does it cost ? To all those post-op or have used it...

It was cheap... I think only a couple of dollars with my crappy benefit plan.  They did have to order it in so make sure you get it before hand.  It's not pill, it was a little vile that I broke the top off, I sucked it up in a syringe, removed the needle part and squirted it into the back of my throat.  I heard from another girl she was told to mix it in apple juice?

As for it's use I am not sure.... I thought it was to help control bleeding during surgery but then why do they give us blood thinners after?

K does help with clotting. If taken before surgery perhaps for this purpose of controlling bleeding. Blood thinners after to stop clotting. When I was on my old blood thinner it was what they used to counteract it
