tHINKING ABOUT RNY, BUT DOES EXERCISE HELP WITH THE FLABBY SKIN AFTER WEIGHT...
There is nothing you can do about excess skin. Nothing. Not exercise, creams, lotions, nothing. It's all about genetics, age, length of time obese, etc.
Don't make your decision based on this. I have seen one person out of thousands who wasn't happier with less weight, and they had a lot of other psychiatric issues. You will be so much better off, more active, and healthy.
6'3" tall, male.
Highest weight was 475. RNY on 08/21/12. Current weight: 198.
M1 -24; M2 -21; M3 -19; M4 -21; M5 -13; M6 -21; M7 -10; M8 -16; M9 -10; M10 -8; M11 -6; M12 -5.
Exactly as Grim says. It depends on your age, how obese you are, hiw long you were obese and your genes! Exercise can tone the muscles under the skin but neither exercise no creams can stop you being left with loose skin.
i hate my loose skin. But I am happier being "flappy" then obese, unhealthy and inactive.
Highest 290, Banded - 248 Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.
Happily banded since May 2006. Regain of 28lbs 2013-14. ALL GONE!
But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,
What the others said.
Also, the amount of extra skin you will have is NOT affected by how you lose the weight or how quickly it comes off. So it isn't like you will have extra skin if you have RNY but won't have it if you opt for the sleeve or find a way to lose the weight without surgery at all.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
Strength training definitely does not hurt! It cannot change the fact that your skin may be a little lax. Building muscle is way more attractive and healthy than letting your muscles atrophy. It depends on what you consider loose skin in my case I am a harsh critic so I was rough on myself but I can see my separation in my bicep, triceps, delt's and it looks way better than it would had I not lifted weights.
