Too Young??
Hello Everyone!
I have been looking into WLS for the past year, my father had Gastric Bypass in 2008, and I feel this is a great path for me to take.
I've been getting a lot of negative feedback from friends and family saying that I am too young to make such a life altering change.
Opinions please!! What do you guys think?
ALSO:
For the ladies; after WLS, will I still be able to conceive a child and not start back at square one with gaining weight and becoming big again??
Any input would be great!!
Thanks, Kaila

How old are you?
I am getting all kinds of unwanted advice too. My mother in law said" but we LOVE food" No crap! Thats why I am this way. lol
You have to do what's in your heart. My friend had bypass and has 2 beautiful boys. She has not returned to pre-op weight.
Nobody can live in your body and feel what you are feeling. Do what's best for YOU!!!!

Hi Kaila! Congrats on your surgery date!
I think whatever age you decide to commit to getting healthy is the right age. When I was 24, my doctor recommended RNY and I declined because I was too apprehensive and thought I could do it on my own. After 6 years of gaining and losing the same 70lbs over and over, I'm glad that I started the process for VSG. I truly wish I had done this 6 years ago.
Don't worry about the negative feedback. As long as you are comfortable with what you are doing and you feel like you are making the right choice, then go for it! The best thing you can do is start building a support system, so focus on filling your life with people who will be a positive influence.
