Lisa's tracheotomy went well yesterday afternoon. Without the vent tube down her throat, she should be more comfortable, less anxious, better able to communicate, and she should need less sedation (the tube is very distressing for her). Her liver is still producing excess bile, but she's no longer jaundiced. Since her liver was one of the first organs to suffer damage in this medical nightmare, it's wonderful to see evidence that it's going back to doing its very important job for Lisa.
