Denial!!!!!

Help! I've been denied for sugery by BC/BS. What do I do and how to go about it. I have met the criteria and now they gave me a new one. Documentation of 12 months with a dietician.

Hi SHaron, I am just seeing your post today (Monday, 6-14) and wanted to reply to you. I was denied last week from BCBS too.... It is such crap, isn't it?! I haven't gotten my letter yet, but was told over the phone when I called last Monday. They told me we needed 12 months medically supervised diet, blah, blah, blah.... I have was disgnosed diabetic in Sept. 2002 and have been pretty medically supervised since that time. I am waiting for my letter to make my appeal. Good luck to you....Gillian Sowers

Which BC/BS do you have? HMO or PPO? Illinois or Blue Advantage? My surgeons office says they've been having a hard time getting approvals with them.
