New DS-er (revision to VSG)

Hi all, New here.
I had my DS conversion from VSG almost 3 weeks ago.
I lost weight my first week (couldn't eat, not surprising) and I have not lost a thing since, not changing size, no body changes.
Is it possible to not lost weight after a DS?
Nurse said "don't worry". Waiting for follow up with nutrionist.
Has this happened to anyone else?

You probably don't recall, but you most likely had the same thing happen after VSG. It's called the Week 3 Stall. It's nothing to be concerned with if you are following the nutrition plan.

I had my revision to DS 3 weeks ago as well. I hit the stall literally at the beginning of week 3.. after about a week, I've now dropped a bunch since then. I don't know what the reason is for sure, but my theory is the move to soft foods slows down the movement through our area.

I hit mine at the end of week one. two weeks after that (so week 2 and 3) NOTHING. And I didn't hit a stall last time. Not until much much later.

You probably had a weight loss before surgery due to the liquid diet. During surgery they pump you full of water so you gain weight.

Then you drop all tha****er and usually another 10 pounds or so the first week. You body is adjusting and the weight loss will start soon. Just stick to your food and exercise plan. You can out eat any surgery. DS does not absorb fat, but does absorb all carbs.

Real life begins where your comfort zone ends

perfectly normal, but maddening. It is known as the three wee stall. Your body has to "catch up." Don't change anything. Keep doing exactly what your plan is, the stall will break. It might take a month but it will break.

if you start Messi g with it, it won't help.
this will not be the only stall. You can expect one every couple of moths.

Ok you had MAJOR surgery three weeks ago. Please let your body heal.

I guess I should ask what your expectations were before surgery. You talk about "not changing size" - in three weeks? really??

Please be patient. You will lose weight.

I wasn't expecting miracles, or fast. Just little by little, but nothing.

Meh, frustrated.

I finally got in touch with the nurse. So I will go do ?? (some sort of body assessment).

The nurtitionist is on leave and they seem to have a shortage in the clinic. Don't know if it is a covid thing.

I wasn't expecting miracles or fast loss, but I was expecting some change, little by little.

I'm trying to figure out how to eat again. I've eaten low fat for so long that it is an adjustment. I've never eaten so many calories. But nothing in my body is changing like they said it would.

I've been exercising daily, going for walks, and doing the elliptical. I'll start adding in some weights next week (slowly)

Honestly, I'm tired and frustrated. Maybe my iron or thyroid are off?

How are you doing?

Please make sure you have your surgeon's OK to start lifting weights. When I had my DS (granted I was not a revision) I had to wait 3 months before I could lift weights (or work out other than walk).

As you've learned, eating with the DS is completely different than any other WLS. You should be eating full fat everything (anything low fat or fat free is loaded with sugar, which you absorb 100%). Focus on protein and minimize your carbs. Lots of water.
