Nancy Ryburn Psychologist Ph.D.

Nancy was just wonderful! i was a little nervous about the eval but she put me at ease. i felt like i was talking to someone i knew. I felt very comfortable talking to her. She just has this way about her. I felt like she really listened to what i was saying and she tried to explain certain things to me that came up as we were talking, things that may have had nothing to do with the surgery but things that were bothering me. i can not say enough how great she was. i would reccomend her to anyone who needs a psyc eval. she is excellent!

Nancy is incredibly supportive and honest. She creates a safe non-judgmental environment that puts her patients at ease and makes it easier for them to open up. She works with her patients to ensure long term success. She tries her best to make her patients understand the emotional and behavioral changes associated with weight loss. She will work with her patients to resolve any issues associated with emotional eating before she approves them for surgery. She is very encouraging and will always make herself available to her patients. Nancy is as important to me as my surgeon. I know I can always count on her.

When I first saw her my thought was 'she's beautiful but model thin what could she possibly know about obesity?' Well she turned out to be very knowledgeable and made me feel so comfortable in talking with her. I normally feel like I'm boring people when I talk but she listened. I was completely comfortable answering the questions and even some that I was ashamed to answer truthfully but she didn't make feel like a bad person when I did answer truthfully. My advise...Be honest! Witholding information can hurt you down the road. I highly recommend Dr. Ryburn!

She is great! and I will definately recommend her to anyone who needs a psch eval!

I ike the fact that she is very available. No long waits for appointments. She also, operates on a sliding payment scale based on your income, so almost anyone can afford to go to her. She was great and I will go back to her if any personal issues arise just before or anytime after surgery. And by the way she conducts support group meetings at Beth Israel Medical Center. It doesn't matter who your surgeon is, all are welcome and its free . (16th St. and 1st Ave NYC-6th Floor Conference Room). It meets once a month , usually on Wednesdays at 6pm. The next meeting is April 27th, 2005. If your not sure if you would be comfortable with her as your Psychologist, this is a good way to meet her in a neutral atomsphere. Well, good luck !!!

Nancy Ryburn is a beautiful person inside and out. She was very understanding and made me feel comfortable. She was very professional and fit my appointment into time that was convieniant for me. She gave some very good advice and made me realize a couple things. I would definitly recommend her to others and am thinking of going back after surgery.

Very knowledgable and really listened to what I had to say. She did not pass me along. I really had to get my act together about food as I am an emotional eater.

I loved speaking with her, I felt relaxed with her and was very comfortable talking about the surgery to her.

She is a wonderful, caring, helpful person. She also is very accomodating, trying to squeeze in appointments. Also, for those who live/work in NYC, the office is very convenient
