Luhana Ude Psychologist Ph.D.
Dr. Ude was okay. I only saw her once to review my evaluation test than she referred me to Dr. Nichols in the same building. She didn't seem to be understanding about kids or how life works with them, but I only had to see her twice. Dr. Nicholes was not experienced with RNY, AGB, or DS and told me a story two or three times about a man who got RNY didn't quit eating and streched his stomach out and died. ??? It didn't bother me much what is most annoying is the office person seems confused and has even gotten rude with me for questioning some bills that came for the first time six months after a service was rendered.
Oh well, it's such a small part of the WLS process.
My first impression of Dr. Ude was that she was a bit distant.... but once I had the actual consult after the testing she was a much warmer person.... very supportive, informative and helpful. Her office staff have a hang up about insurance...although they say it is to protect the patient.... I was asked ten times if I was asked once if my insurance covered the testing and visits... they would not believe it was covered and yet did not call for pre-authorization when i tried to give them the number and contact person.... go figure.
Her office is now obesity friendly. The location does not have parking other than on the street which could be oveerly far for people with decreased walking ability. To get into her building involves negociating many steps about 1/2 without handrails. This is not good for people seeking bariatric surgery.
