Michael Sakowitz Psychologist Dr.

I went for pre surgery interview and am planning to go back to him soon. I am still pre surgery, and would like see him again before (am very nervous), and then after surgery, for the support I believe he can offer me. There were the standard written 'tests', and the conversation was easy and comfortable.

I went to Dr. Sakowitz for my pre-op review. He was very knowledgeable about the surgery (lap-band) I was setting myself up for. We talked with great ease and although I was nervous at first by the time we were done I felt confident my decision was the right one for me!! He conducts weekly support meetings that I still attend. Our group is made up of both Bypass and Lap Band folks. I find our meetings let me vent and inquire. We share ideas and give great support to all the members. I look forward to my "Weekly Therapy" meetings. I use as a reset button, if I have had a great week I get to brag, and if it's been a crappy week I reset myself to do better! I also attend monthly support meetings held by my Nutritionist and I look forward to those too! Dr. Sakowitz has been a tremendous help and I thank him for his support!

I found Dr. Sakowitz to be very supportive and comforting during my evaluation. At first I was hesitant about paying a fee in advance but his promptness and efficiencey were well worth it. I was reimbursed most of the money by my insurance. Dr. Sakowitz also offers a weekly support group for after surgery which I find very helpful and enlightening. I highly recommend his services to all.

Dr. Sakowitz made me feel very comfortable. He allowed my husband to sit in on our session. I took a couple of tests (alcohol dependency and anxiety). We went over my answers and about the surgery. He is a very nice man and I would recommend him to all.
