Richard Palmer Psychiatrist
I knew I was in trouble when after I told him why I was there, he asked me what he was suppose to do. After I explained to him the reason for my visit and told him my diet history. He argued about how he didn't think I'd be able to make surgery work for me because of my eating habits. I explained to him that I understood that this was merely a "tool" & not a magic solve-all. I conveyed my commitment and how I thought this was really my last hope. He again argued with me... I explained that the reason why most people are having this surgery is because they are not able to keep the weight off, otherwise there'd be no reason for Bariatric Surgery. Needless to say, I wasted my time and encourage everyone to see a psychiatrist who is referred by the surgeon and knowledgeable about this type of surgery. His closing comment was "you definitely know alot about the surgery and are definitely well-versed, but I just don't think (based on your diet history) that this surgery will work for you. I asked him, "do you think I would put myself through an operation that could possibly kill me... as a quick fix?" On that note... I left.
One week later I received a bill for $205.
