Dr. Alexion mentioned that she had 2 patients that had a gastric bypass. 1 did well, the other did not. I think this is why she wanted to make sure I wouldn't "eat through" the surgery. I was upset about this at first, but realized that this was for my benefit. She also told me some of the risks and benefits, and the amount of testing that will be required. I will update as I get further along in my journey!
