W. John Suber Jr. Plastic Surgeon M.D.
I had heard so many good things about Dr. Suber from a lot of bariatric patients. But I was still going to make my own judgement. I went for my belly, maybe lipo, and breast lift. I've seen some other reviews, and I agree that he definitely took his time explaining everything. I was nervous and he had to repeat some things, but he never was bothered by repeating himself.
I felt very good about doing lipo around my tummy and back, and doing a breast lift (the tummy tuck will be later). He spent a lot of time talking about risks and things. I joked that he was trying to talk me out of surgery (lol). But he said he really wanted me to understand everything really good.
My husband really appreciated that, and said after that he trusted him with his "queen." ;-) So I had lipo 360 and a breast lift. I was sore after. Dr. Suber was so kind to me with the after visits. I am very happy with the lipo and my new lifted breasts (that dont hang or go under my arms anymore).
Dr. Suber is very good and seems to love what he does. He really likes his patients (to me), and it shows.
Dr. Suber is great! I am over 4 years out from bypass and two years out from surgery with Dr. Suber for my belly, breasts and arms. He knew his stuff from the beginning, though I got the feeling he did from one of his talks he gave to our support group. In my area at least (Upstate SC), he is the guy to go to. He does so much of this, and it shows. I have known quite a few other ladies who have used him, and we talk. They share my thoughts about the guy.
My belly is still flat (yes, I've worked hard to "follow the rules) and I just couldn't be happier. He was always available to me, even for work-in appointments. He is also a genuinely nice guy and really cares about what he is doing. I would send anyone to him who asked, no questions.
Dr. Suber is phenomenal. He apparently has been dealing with post-weight loss patients for at least 10 years (I am 8 years out from my 1st surgery with him) and it is a big part of his practice. To sum him up: (1) he is very detail oriented, (2) he is highly skilled & experienced at managing weight loss patients, (3) he is highly compassionate and down to earth (with a great sense of humor), (4) he goes the extra mile (came by my house after my tummy surgery to check on me when I did not have a ride) and actually prayed with me before he left (5) he will file for insurance coverage for the office consult and surgery(if you have symptoms). He's also easy on the eyes (lol).
I cannot recommend him highly enough! See him before you decide on a plastic surgeon (even if you've already visited another as I had done).
I was totally comfortable with Dr. Suber from the beginning consult. He is very interested in ps after weight loss and is making it one of his specialties. He is knowledgeable and artistic.
I think it would help his patients if he would give patients a booklet with what to expect before and after surgery. Nothing bad happened, but I think I would have liked to have something to refer to as I went through the process.
I was very nervous when I first went to see Dr. Suber but he made me feel very good about the surgery and I could tell I was in good hands. He is an outstanding doctor and I am just glad I choose him to do my surgery. It's really a treat when you get a great surgeon who also had a great bedside manner.
Dr. Suber is one of the finest individuals that I have ever met. He was on call for me 24/7 and constantly assured me that it was alright for me to call him as I needed. It is obvious that his patients are extremely important to him and he always puts them first. I can't speak highly enough about Dr. Suber and his staff. They have been so wonderful to work with and it is amazing the difference in how I look since my tummy tuck. I lost several sizes in my clothes and 12 pounds with the surgery. Most of all, my confidence level is the highest that it has been in years. I can't thank Dr. Suber enough for the changes that he has made in my life...
Dr. Suber performed a skin removal pannelectomy surgery for me just 1 yr after post op (Gastric Bypass Surgery)to remove the lower apron of excess skin that was causing yeast infections and hygene discomfort. The surgery was insurance approved and 100 % covered because I had lost 180 pounds. Ins company is Cigna PPO.
