I truly believe Dr. Jetter is THE best. He specializes in post weight loss surgery patients, which should be a must for someone choosing ps after wls.
I got referred to him by Dr. Mitch Roslin (who did my Lapband) so I automatically knew I would not be let down. When I had my initial consult I went into his office having a certain idea in my mind of trouble spots and what surgeries I liked but I was a little skeptical because I'm young and was worried about getting plastic surgery.... Then came my first interaction with the Dr. (once he had already introduced himself to me) he had me open my gown and literally within 20 seconds had sized up my whole body and knew exactly what he wanted to do but better yet, he seemed to be reading my mind. He grabbed my stomach skin and said, "All of this. This this this this- it's all going! We'll tuck this here, make a new belly button, lipo" then move to the love handles and say "This is going!" moves to the legs "All of this! We are getting rid of it!.... Lipo in here, tuck it in here." But not in a disrespectful way, like an artist studying the body and making all their measurements. I was actually kind of amused by how wonderfully straightforward and honest he was, I even reenacted this moment for people after my consult because it was so great. That's what I like about him- pardon the saying but he is a no BS kind of guy and that made him even more trustworthy. He told me he wanted to perform a lower body lift and then showed me his book of before and afters and WOW I could not have been more impressed. We sat in his office and discussed every aspect of the surgery (step by step procedure, pain, complications, recovery etc.) and he was very informative and was obviously knowledgeable about the operation, the human body and a weight loss surgery patient's needs.
His office is incredible and everyone there is friendly and kindhearted and seem to really care about the patients. When I call I literally say "Hi! It's Kate!" and they know exactly who I am and always ask how I am doing. When I went in for surgery I wasn't even scared and could not have felt more comfortable with his surgical team. Pre-surgery he took a lot of time to take specific measurements of my body and make marks where he would be working. He made me stand up, bend over- you name it, to make sure he would be taking just the right amount of skin. He then makes sure to fill in his whole team on his plans. I'm a pretty shy girl and I've never felt more comfortable, unclothed, in a room full of so many men. He was extremely supportive and helpful after my surgery.
About a week and a half after surgery (on a weekend) I started to feel some discomfort in my abdomen, along the incision. I called on a Sunday morning and he took the time to talk with me then arranged to see me THAT NIGHT. I found out I had fat necrosis, which is very rare but can happen. Dr. Jetter was in no way to blame for this because it wasn't something he did, just the way by body reacted to loosing its fat and trying to heal itself. Anyways, he had to open a small part of my incision to help the dead fat cells drain and literally saw me three times a week, fitting me in even when he didn't have normal hours to help me. He was so sympathetic and caring and devoted to my health. I called him about 2 weeks ago because I had come down with strep throat and was worried about how my coughing would affect my surgery. I expected to just leave a message and hear back later but he got on the phone right away to discuss it with me.
I am 2 months out of my LBL and could not be more impressed (I have pics on my profile). I plan on doing more work with Dr. Jetter but I'm waiting till I have some time off from school. I could not have asked for a better experience or a better surgeon and I am so blessed and delighted to have had the best doctor duo (Dr. Roslin and Dr. Jetter) helping me through my journey. My body has never felt better and I know it's because I have had some of the most experienced and brilliant hands taking care of it!
