Marisa Lawrence Plastic Surgeon MD

I had a consulatation with Dr Lawrence yesterday (04.13.04). I am considering a Body Lift, Medial Thighplasty and Brachioplasty. Dr Lawrence was great! I felt very comfortable showing her my areas of concern and felt she was eager to address _my_ concerns and not fit me into a "standard" procedure. Everybody in her office was supportive and very kind. I'm really impressed and would trust Dr Lawrence. I am seriously considering scheduling surgery and will appreciate any information/thoughts/feedback others may have on similar procedures. I would also like to get some other opinions and if there are other surgeons that I should consider, please send me an email. Thank you all.

Awesome! Awesome! Awesome! Originally I tried to have a tummy tuck with DR.WORK. My insurance approved it and he tried to squeeze another 2 grand out of me to tighten the muscles and give a belly button. I fled crying to Dr. Lawrence. She was shocked! She said that with an approval code, she could do it. The office staff was no help, I had to do all the leg work, but within 1 week I was approved and she did a bang up job. I have a flat belly, a little bit of sexy abs going on and not a penny out of my pocket!!! She was awesome!

I found Dr. Lawrence when I was dissatisfied with another surgeon in the Atlanta area who was willing to put me to sleep four separate times to increase his reimbursement (Some insurance companies discount additional procedures when done at the same time). I immediately felt very comfortable with her and set about getting my insurance pre-approval switched to her office. Her office was very helping in this process. I had a lower body lift on 02/20/03. I was supposed to have had a breast lift the same day but for MY SAFETY due to more blood loss than she wanted to see she delayed the breast lift. I developed a seroma in the incision in my back which the office dealt with wonderfully. A month later on 03/19/03 I had an inner thigh lift which was a major ordeal. She did a beautiful job as she did with my LBL. I developed an infection in my left thigh which she didn't fool around with. She immediately sent me to an infectious disease specialist and also to a vascular specialist because I was having swelling in that leg only. With everyone's help everything resolved. I am now scheduled to have a breast lift/reduction and an arm lift on 11/07/03 and can't wait to be finished. Dr. Lawrence and Alyssa Phillips her PA are absolutely wonderful. She has changed many of her office staff members she believes to enhance her patient's experience with her staff. SHE IS ABSOLUTELY MY HERO!

Since I first posted this "review" in 09/03 Dr. Lawrence has now performed my breast reduction/lift and my brachioplasty. I was initially concerned that my breasts had been left "too small" and was amazed to find out that all these years of wearing at the least a DDD bra I had very little breast tissue. I ended up with a C cup and the difference in the way I feel is amazing. I know that the breasts that are "showing" now are all that - breasts - because Dr. Lawrence removed little if any actual breast tissue. My breasts are still healing but look fabulous! My arms are absolutely amazing! She liposuctioned my arms and then reduced the skin and I am absolutely thrilled. Once again the care I received from Dr. Lawrence and the always wonderful Alyssa has been outstanding. I had an itching problem on Thanskgiving day, had Dr. Lawrenced paged (because I was going out of town the next morning) and she returned my call in less than 10 minutes. How is that for a surgeon being available on a holiday weekend?

Awesome surgeon!! I had a belt lipectomy on 8/11 and am thrilled with the results. Only negative was with Northside's 23 hour unit.....Dr. Lawrence is great - and her staff was wonderful too.

From what I've heard from former patients of hers, Dr Lawrence does good work but she simply is not concerned with my concerns. BC/BS is giving me a hard time and I could not get an ounce of help from her staff and then she called me and basically said if you don't like the way we ignore you, then go to another Dr. I really feel trapped but how can I trust this woman
with my life when she apparently couldn't care less if she satifies me or not. Seriously, no compassion
for a human being which in my eyes makes you a second class physician.

One does need to stay on top of the insurance part of the plastic surgery with this office. De'vonne is wonderful in Dr. Lawrences office...but they are busy and don't have time really to pursue every time the insurance company needs reminding that they have your paperwork sitting on the desk somewhere.

I say this with regret as I had heard such wonderful things about Dr. Lawrence and her practice, but I was *extremely* dissapointed after my first consultation. Her staff was pleasant enough, but at my meeting with Dr. Lawrence I must say that I felt very rushed, I felt I had little opportunity to ask questions and she made me feel very unimportant. I hesitate to make this judgement, but I do agree with the previous poster that she may be more inclined to spend time with and help her patients who are paying in cash. I was also dissapointed with the person I spoke with regarding the insurance issues. She was nice enough, but she made me feel like she had something much more important to do than answer my questions. Overall, I feel Dr. Lawrence is probably an extremely skilled surgeon, but sadly I just did not experience the wonderful bedside manner I had heard so much about. She made me feel like a number.

I have seen some of Dr Lawrence/s work and she does awesome work. I am waiting insurance approval to have a lower body lift at present..

Switched from Jeffords to Lawrence. I have had an initial consult with Dr. Lawrence and have been very impressed. I am waiting for insurance approval for Lower Body Lift, Breast Lift w/Aug, Brachioplasty & Medial Thigh Lift.
