Adam Basner Plastic Surgeon M.D., F.A.C.S.

Dr. Basner spoke at a WLS post-op meeting that I attended, and he explained most of the common post-WLS concerns that could be addressed by plastic/reconstructive surgery. Several of his patients also attended that meeting. So I was able to not only get his professional explanations, but also had the opportunity to talk to those who had been through it. By the time I had my initial consultation, most of my general questions were already answered, so at the consult we concentrated on specifics. Dr. Basner was thorough and professional; after he understood what my goals were, he suggested how we should get there. I had two surgeries, one for lower body and one for upper body, combining several procedures in each one. The surgeries were done “out-patient” at his surgicenter. Dr. Basner called me the next morning to check on my progress, and saw me in his office a few days later. My pre- and post-op treatment was excellent. I am thrilled with the results. The office staff, and Dr. Basner’s assistant in particular, were very helpful in answering questions that came up before and during the recovery process.

I had my initial consultation with Dr. Basner and he is definitely the doctor I plan to use. He actually recommended I have fewer procedures than other doctors because he said I don't need them. Wow, a doctor who is trying to sell me less and decrease my recovery time. I like that! Prices seem affordable compared to others as well. My insurance likely will not cover my tummy tuck (skin removal only - no need to tighten muscles according to Dr. Basner) so I will have to finance. I will update as I got through the process.

I'm scheduled for my procedure on Oct 21, 05. This was rescheduled for 2/22/06.

I'm five days out now and this has been much more difficult than I expected. WLS was much easier. Today I am finally starting to feel better. The surgery itself was fine - the staff was all friendly and helpful. I go for my follow up appointment tomorrow. I'll post again then.

Very happy with results. Need a few touchups which would not be done at no cost to me so going elsewhere. The office, doctors, and you, are very rushed and you feel like a number sometimes. All the girls in the office though are very sweet. Dr. Basner seems overwhelmed most of the time so beware of this if you need a surgeon to give you lots of time and plenty of attention. Overall, I would recommend Dr. Basner.

I consulted with seven plastic/reconstructive surgeons and selected Dr. Basner. Being a healthcare provider myself I knew what I wanted in a surgeon and was unwilling to compromise. The office staff is friendly, professional and pleasant to work with. Dr. Basner made me feel comfortable immediately.

Having lost around 100 lbs. I had a lot of saggy skin. He didn't make me feel embarrassed about this. He was quite enthusiastic about how we could embark on reconstruction. I say "we" because I was very much a part of the process, not just a patient to be poked at.

Dr. Basner was willing to be as conservative or as aggressive within medical limits as I was comfortable with. This was a very important factor to me.

Ultimately we decided upon a lower body lift first. This included abdomenoplasty, inner and outer thigh reduction and a "butt lift".

I spent one night in the hospital. Once I overcame my fear of movement, I was amazed at how little actual pain I had! There was definite discomfort but I only needed 3 or 4 of the pain pills!

My results are beyond my wildest imagination-going from a size 24 to a size 14 was great, but looking phenomenal in size 8-10 tight pants is even better!!

We're planning my second reconstruction in 2/05. I'm going to have the loose skin removed from my back, upper arms and chin. I'm even getting breast implants!

I can't say enough about Dr. Basner and his staff. My experience has been wonderful. I highly recommend him.

I interviewed 3 surgeons. Dr. Basner was the first one that I had an interview with. He took his time and listened to my thoughts and concerns, he talked "with" me and not to me. I was not impressed with the next two surgeons I interviewed and went back to Dr. Basner. I know I made the right choice! I adore him and his staff. He has a great bedside manner and does care about his patients. His staff has always been very kind and helpful. I would recommend him to anyone!

After interviewing 6 plastic surgeons there was no further decision after meeting Dr. Basner. Dr. Basner was positive, caring and non-judgemental towards gastric bypass patients. Other surgeons I had interviewed were extremely insensitive to the body changes of a gastric bypass patient. Dr. Basner made me believe that he could help "uncover" my "new body" which was unable to be seen by the excess skin due to my weight loss. I highly recommend Dr. Basner. Every staff member was courteous, polite and caring. They made you feel like you were their only patient. I will definitely return to Dr. Basner!

Dr Basner is highly recomended by me and i plan to go back to him for more surgeries!!!!!
