I am writing a personal letter to the Hospital Commander as I was so very impressed at how much care and attention I received...and how much respect! These people were all highly trained to deal with bariatric patients.

Brooke Army Medical Center was not doing the procedure at the time that I had RNY done at Wilford Hall. If BAMC was, I would have gone there too and would have been just as comfortable.

I havent had the WLS at this hospital yet, but have several appts and support group meetings there.

I felt very safe and well cared for during my stay. I did have a hiccup with my pain meds, but my doctor had that cleared up in no time and the staff was so responsive to me afterwards. It is a training facility as well, sometimes, I felt like I had wayyyy too much attention... when one Dr. came around... they all came around!

This is a very experienced hospital in dealing with people who are obese. They have been doing wls here for many years as well as teaching others. The doctors are all very professional and well educated about this surgery. The staff is excellent and caters to the sensitivities of the patients. I would highly recommend this hospital to anyone considering wls since I believe it is a procedure that should only be handled by the best wls professionals.
