Wellstar Kennestone Hospital

Being hospitalized is always a nerve-wracking experience, but the staff at Kennestone really worked to calm me. They treated me with respect and kindness at all times. I had a few complications after surgery and the nurses really pounced on it to get me treated quickly so they didn't progress.
I have only two negatives to report:
** the lack of wide table in the xray room where they put in my central line. It was quite narrow, so I felt like I needed to really balance myself. On the other hand, one of the xray techs had undergone WLS herself and was extremely supportive to me during procedure.
**They have a lot of parking, but everything in the hospital is a sizeable hike from the parking lot, more than a half mile. If you have mobility issues, ask for a wheelchair. When you go in for pre-admission, you will be walking A LOT to the various places. There is valet parking, but honestly, this was of very little use to me because my knees are so bad.
Overall, I give Kennestone great marks. The nursing staff on 5-South, which is where my doctor sends all his patients were really knowledgeable and just fabulous nurses.

Dr Jean-Pierre was very kind and well versed in the VSG procedure...he is also tri-lingual which made my husband and myself understand the pros and cons with any surgery that and the support and educational information provided by his staff in my long journey makes me secure in promoting this Wellstar team!!
