I found from my first doctor I had a bad enlarged heart, I wouldnt live long due to my weight.. Going to this hospital I found my heart is great and im the healthiest fat guy my doctor has ever seen! Once of course I got my Blood Preasure and Blood Sugars leveled out. I got my 2nd Chance and here I am!

UIHC works very hard to make sure as a patient you are getting nothing but the best care. All of the nurses and aides who were assigned to care for me while I was there, went above and beyond to be gentle, compassionate, comforting, caring and helpful. They were attentive to my needs and responded quickly when I called someone for assistance. I have nothing but positives to say about the UIHC. I am blessed to have had my surgery there!!

I knew going in that my experience was going to be horrible based on previous experience, but that is the only hospital that the surgeon I wanted practiced through, so I wanted a great surgeon and got it, but my care from the general staff was horrible

Great surgical team. Super bariatric clinic staff. Facility is not great (shared a room-yuck) but I hear they are moving to a new area of the hospital in November 2007.

This hospital is very thorough. They want to make sure that you will succeed before they give you the surgery.

Not a bad experience. Had some problems getting meds in a timely manner (ie. nausea meds).
