UCSD Center for the Treatment of Obesity Hospital
My care in the ICU was good for the most part. There was one nurse there who really took good care of me. After I was moved out of ICU to a private room, I was very happy until I discovered how awful the nursing care was. They were very disinterested, totally lacking in compassion, and every request was treated as an inconvenience. Then I found out that for two days I was receiving glucose because a nurse mistakenly read my blood sugar level and thought I was diabetic! I can appreciate that this hospital is having a nursing shortage, but there is still no excuse for such callous treatment of patients. I pray I never have to go back there.
I had a few difficult/noisy roommates. One was a girl with a broken pelvis (screaming) and her friends came in with food from Burger King or something like that. The smell was awful, especially since it was after the ICU and Iwas still tanked up on morphine. All in all, it was a hospital experience. Hospitals aren't fun.
