St. Mary's Hospital Hospital
I had a very good experience with the care from the nurses and staff. But, there was construction going on in the hospital so it could be a little loud but I also had brought ear plugs in case they were needed. I only needed them at night because my room mate said she snored actually both the room mates I had said they snored. So, slept very comfortably until I had to be awaken to test my blood sugars because they were running low. I also received great care from Jan B. with the Diabetes Center she came over to help monitor my blood sugars and help me adjust my insuling pump. Over all my experience was excellent and would recommend it.
I hope I do not have to go back to this hospital again. I had just recieved apain meds and was taken to have an x-ray at approximately 5:45pm. Between getting their and taking the x-ray took about 15 minutes. Then I was left sitting in a hallway all drugged up and not knowing where I was for 30 minutes because the "tranport" as they call themselves were extremely busy. I would have gone back to my room on my own in the wheel chair if I knew where my room was. I will be sending the hosptial a letter regarding my feeling about this.
I think it is a great hospital, always making improvements. I used to be a staff nurse on 7W (the general surgery recovery floor) and did find many improvements made in the nursing staff since I worked there 2 years ago. I was a little apprehensive at first, but felt comfortable with the care I received. I also have found the support at the bariatric clinic to be extremely helpful post-op. Great nurses and dieticians!!!
