The nursing staff in the ICU were very good. The nurses in the recovery unit were fantastic as well. I had a very good experience at St. Joes
I had some complications and had to spend 4 days in ICU, which was pure hell because of the noise level of the nurses and staff. They make no attempt whatsoever to lower their voices, etc. They constantly are blabbing about their personal lives, yelling down the hallways to each other, all the while very sick people are trying to sleep around all this. I finally complained so much that just to shut me up they moved me to a private ICU room, which was much better. However, I will say that the care I received in ICU was EXCELLENT. They really took good care of me! May stay in the regular room in 2 South was also very good.
Every aspect of my WLS was very well done from the pre admitting, to the pre-op where everthing was constantly explained to post-op, ICU and then to my private room. Everyone in every dept was very professional, helpful and kind
