Christiana Institute of Advanced Surgery (CHRIAS) Hospital
I met with Dr. Wynn on May 28, 2004. My husband went with me. The office seemed nice and everyone was friendly. I felt very at ease there and even though I had research the surgery for a long time I felt Dr. wanted to make sure I understood everything. I like the fact they go through PMRI. other Dr.s i have researched require you to get and make all those appointments on your own. Having it all at your fingertips was an extream blessing. So far everyone i have met be it at Dr. Wynns office or PMRI have been more than willing to help with anything you need. This program is set up for you to succeed!!!!!!
My first impression of Dr. Wynn was very good. She was friendly and spoke to you as though you were the only person on her schedule for the day. In other, she took the time to talk to me and explain the pros and cons of the surgery and not just say hello, look at her watch, and then say goodbye. She really showed that she cared! Her office staff was excellent. They really make you feel at home. If you are thinking about getting the surgery and are exploring other surgeons, your search should stop with Drs. Wynn and Irgau. I haven't heard any negative things about them. Overall, I would say that Dr. Wynn is the best surgeon to perform my surgery.
I sought out referal for a weight loss surgeon from my family doctor and then I asked my neighbor across the street, who works at the local hospital. My neighbor, anita had such great things to say about Dr.Wynn. she said she has yet to lose a patient(knock on wood), most proceedures are done laproscopically, she's had sucessful outcomes on patient much larger than me(398#).
When I met her, I thought this is one sharp lady doctor, I thought I am lucky to be in her care. She gave a through physical exam , she found an abdominal hernia that I didnt know about, she explained the surgery, and answered all of my questions. Her office was great, it had seating for large patients, she has a very friendly office staff, many who have had the surgery. I would recommend Dr. Wynn to any one considering the surgery. At My first office visit, I was wondering why do I have to see several other doctors( cardiologist, batrician, pulmonogist, psychologist, dietician) Dr Wynn, wants to make sure you have the best of care, before and after the surgery.
Now if your reading this thinking its too go to be true? this is the one thing that a surgeon can't do you. They can't answer this question---Do I really, really want to have baratric surgery? You have to choose if the surgery is for you. I will say the more information you get the easier it will be to make a decision.
My First impression of Dr. Wynn is that she was very professional. She remained so and was sure to explain the bad things that could happen with the surgery. She was very thorough. The office staff was very very kind and helpful. They did seem a bit busy so be sure to bring your questions, be sure to ask about the pros and cons of each surgery to form a doctors point of view... I forgot to do that. She mentioned before and after care was very importanat. It was all pretty brief as I had already done alot of the research. She was wonderful and her bedside manner is great :)
I cannot say enough about Dr Irgau, Dr. Wynn and Brett Gordon. They are absolutely the best. They are extremely through and the follow up care by them personally is outstanding. I feel Blessed to have them on my side and a major part of my surgery. I had all the confidence in the world going into this surgery. The only worry I had was of the unknown. Their surgical competence and bedside manner is like no other experience I have ever had with myself or other family members. I would do this again in a heartbeat. Thank God!! Good Job!!
I was very impressed with the office and they way I was treated from my very 1st telephone call. My husband went with me to the initial consultation and we were both very impressed with Dr. Irgau - not only his medical knowledge, but his compassion. I was having an emotional day and he was wonderful in explaining things and encouring me to explore any concerns with PMRI as part of my pre-op process. I went in with a lot of knowledge (gleaned from this site) and felt very good about the information he gave to me. I would highly recommend him.
She was warm and very friendly.
It didnt change at all!
The office staff is fantastic. Trying to do whatever they can for you. One of the staff recently had the surgery! You deal so much with the staff thru the whole long process. They were the best part!
Dr. Wynn has a partner. Though I havent met him yet the other patients say he is wonderful. They do the surgeries together.
AFTERCARE & going to the support mtgs are very much emphasized. Also the whole process with nutritionist, physcologist & the other specialist.
I asked her to be very straight forward & she was. I have many health issues that had to be discussed & doctors to approve. She knew them all & they all think she is the BEST!!
Her rating is excellent!!!!!!!!!!
Both great & she was sweet with my family too.
My hospital stay was horrible. Very understaffed. Didnt seem to know all they should have about my after care.
I head about Dr. Wynn through Obesity Help. She seems very competent and I liked her attitude right away. She didn't make me feel rushed and she answered my husband's questions with all the patience in the world. I know her schedule is crazy busy so I don't know how she does it. She worked with PMRI for all the aftercare, but I still see her every 3 months for an incision check, a blood test check and to make sure I haven't herniated anything. My 6 yr. old daughter has been to two aftercare appointments and Dr. Wynn has been really good with her too, answering the questions she asked about my incision marks and everything. I highly recommend her, although I think the wait time to get intial appointments and PMRI appointments is pretty long at this point.
