St. Dominics-Jackson Memorial Hospital Hospital
So far, so good.
I met Dr. Carroll on Sept 17, 2008 for the first time. He was so attentative and very instructive about the surgery. He examined my file and made suggestions toward my goal. I am still in the process of getting approval from insurance but his office is handling everything. They are so wonderful. I will update this as time premits.
Great so far! Very informative, encouraging and confident.
Dr.Carroll is straight forward, and very knowledgeable.rnrnHe is still the same caring, straight forward and knowledgeable doctor that I met four years ago.rnrnThe whole staff is very caring and helpful.rnrn Dr.Carroll is well informed, and he is a great surgeon.I would recommend him to any body. rnrnHe told me to make sure I follow all the guide lines. He goes strictly by the book, and told me to call if I had any problems.Dr.Carroll cares about all his patients...............rnrnrn He answered every question that I asked, and I had two pages of questions. He is a well informed surgeon,He explained all the pros and cons.rnrnDr.Carroll is a Great Doctor I give him a(8 1/2)rnrnI wouldn't say one is greater than the other, because they both are important,to me.rnrnrnrn
I had had Gastroplasty in 1983, when I was 4'11" and over 200lbs. I lost real well but in the last couple years have not done well. I threw up EVERYTHING that I ate but began gaining weight. I went to the hospital with chest pains. The ER thought it was a heart attack. Even the EKG was abnormal, but after blood work they called in a gastric doctor. He knew Dr. Carroll. Dr. Carroll is the only doctor in the south (or at least MS)that will attempt to redo a gastroplasty surgery. He had to perform the Rouen Y bypass to correct the problem. After 20 years my ring had collapsed, he tried dilating it but it happened again. My first impression was not good. He seemed a little stand offish and arrogant. After the last 6-9 months I have found him to be more personable. He is a very good doctor and quite competent. He knows what he is doing. His staff is very friendly, which makes up for his quietness. I feel sure that he would answer any question you cask him. I think he assumed that I had already had surgery before and knew what I needed to know, but this was very different. I should have asked more questions. I didn't do well at first but 6-9 months down the road, I am much better. Two things to keep in mind is the massive amount of times you go to the bathroom and I have experienced embarassing gas. Dr. Carrolls surgical competence is great. The best is I will never gain weight!
1.my first impression of Dr Carroll was he was very informative of the different kinds of wt loss surgeries and he told us what he liked and why he preferred lap-band.
2.The more times I see Dr Carroll the more I like him as physician at first I thought he was a little reserved but now I seems to be a little more one on one with me and that makes me feel better
3.His office staff has been the greatest so far they are a fantastic bunch of ladies
4.I am just waiting to get to talk to him again for a little more info on the way he does his surgery and his post op routine
5.don't get in any big hurry because this whole process takes time and I don't think it is just him it is the way life goes.
6.He leaves a lot up to you to change your way of life and eating He provides you with the tool and information and let's you handle it your way
7.I'm not sure but I have started going to a support group in Brookhaven but they are a little bias. So I am always looking for some extra support
8.Just explained them along with the surgery
9.From 1 to 10, 10 being the best I'd give him a 7.5 or 8 and I understand he is busy but I am waitng on my next office visit
10.His competence is great and I haven't seen his bedside manner yet I am sure he is good though because I have seen and heard how good of a doctor he is BOTH now that I have seen him more
