Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center Hospital
Unfortunately St. Francis has been like another home to me. I know a lot of the staff their. It's not funny but when I was going in for my RNY, I saw other surgeon's and nurses that I know from other hospital stays.Again in the recovery room I saw my neurosurgeon, in fact I knew my anasteiologist ( spelling?) by name! he knew my history before reviewing my chart! I always feel comfortable here. These people know me, and my history. I don't feel safe anywhere else!
It's a very CLEAN hospital. The nurses I have had each time have been both very professional AND very helpful to me. The "holding area" they have for the patients waiting to be operated on, is very well organized. I was very relaxed, and that was with no medication to relax me. Aftercare, for the hospital stay, was very well organized also.
I kept telling them that I felt hot. I had a catheter in. I finally had it taken out and supposedly someone took urine for a test. The test came back positive of an infection, but no one informed me or gave me antibiotics. When I went home, I noticed my urine had a strong odor and I told my doctor. When I saw him a week later, he sent me for an urine test and it came back positive. When I called the doctor's office, they informed me that they looked into my hospital chart and found the urine test that was positive, but they were not told either.
