RHD Memorial Medical Center Hospital

RHD was very clean and orderly. The post op nurses were professional but only one was personable. Could have used some empathy at that point. My daughter had the same opinion. The registration and pre op staff were great. Bariatric Nurse Carol C. was a hoot.

My only complaint is that my lung specialist ordered breathing treatments and that the person that was suppose to give me these treatments every 4 hours decided on their own to not wake me up at Midnight or after because I was sleeping so well. I believe that set me back a bit in my recovery. When he did come give me a breathing treatment he did not set my oxygen back to 2, left it at 4 which caused nose bleeds, headache and later started a fever. Other than that my recovery was way ahead of schedule. Nurses took my Morphine pump away because I was not using it!

I had heard not so good things about the after-care staff but it all proved untrue in my case. The staff was attentive and kind...even when I kept pushing the call button my mistake. They were all very supportive and made my recovery much easier.

My favorite nurse was Charlene. Her mom had the surgery a week before so she had advise for me. She was an LVN but better than most RNs. Remember you can request her. She was an excellent teacher.

I opted for a private room so relatives could assist me during my stay so that might contribute slightly to my high marks for the hospital since my family took care of many of my personal needs. Of all of the caregivers in the hospital all rate excellent except one that I would rate average. Overall, it was a very positive experience.

It was dirty in my private room. There for three days and never got bathed.

I would reccomend this hospital to everyone! It was a very pleasant experience!

OMG, the staff simply sucked...one of the nurses who had the same operation as I did wanted to remove a bandage from my abdomen and she simply was going to help herself to RIPPING it right off me...as I screamed at her telling her I'D DO IT...then she got mad at me for "refusing" treatment.

They did not offer to provide toiletry items or make any effort to clean the room each day I was there. They never came and offered to help me clean up. I had to ask for everything I wanted. My husband spent most of his time there doing what the nurse's should of been doing.

I love this hospital, and have always received excelent care, except one problem with an Emergency room Doctor. I would still choose to go here over another hospital.
