My first impression of Dr Melkonian was very professional. His office staff was very nice and easy to work with. Dr. Melkonian is very professional, and knows his job very well. He is an excellent surgeon. He really emphasizes after care and has a structured after care program. He addresses both the pro's and con's of the surgery, and all the risks. I would rate him the best in Charlotte.
For me the most important thing in a surgeon is competency, and Dr. Melkonian has performed the procedure very well on me. I had no pain after the 2nd day. Some mild soreness, worthy of only Tylenol. He offered to give me a prescription for pain killers, but I had to be honest and tell him no need. I had my surgery on April 4th. and April 6th came home. April 8th I was walking through my neighborhood with my Grandchildren. I haven't stopped yet.

My first impression of Dr Melkonian was at the bariatric surgery seminar in November 05. He seemed like a knowledgeable doctor who enjoyed talking about bariatric surgery. I was impressed. I then researched him on this web site and was happy with what I saw. When I met Dr. Melkonian at my first pre-surgical consultation on 1/13/06 I was still more impressed with his patience and willingness to answer all my questions. He was very thorough in explaining all of the risks and I left feeling that I had a good understanding of what my body will be going through. 3/3/06 I had my 2nd pre-surgical consultation with Dr. Melkonian today and am still more impressed with the professionalism of both the doctor and that of his staff. I am 100% sure I've made the right choice in a surgeon. 3/26/2006 My surgery was Tuesday. Dr. Melkonian was professional and I would recommend him to anyone I know. I had no pain that I can remember...I am up and about and going back to work tomorrow. He is fantastic!

My first impression was he was straight forward and busy. :) When I went n after approval he was happy, explained things further and was very nice. During the procedure and the recovery time in the hospital, he visited me every day as well as a good portion of his staff and has a terrific bedside manner. I would recommend him to anyone considering to have this surgery. He is terrific.

I liked Dr. Melkonian the minute I met him. He was very attentive and informative. Dr. Melkonian's insurance assistant, Mel was so helpful EVERY time I called her. I can call anytime I have any questions about anything.

Everyone at Southeast Bariatrics has been wonderful in trying to help locate my missing file (which was to be transfered from the Presbyterian Bariatric Center to Southeast Bariatrics and never showed up...it is now completely MIA). Steffney, Julie and Pamela were extremely friendly and helpful. I enjoyed meeting Dr. Voellinger and truly feel that he has a passion for what he does. He is very through (he requires a little more pre-op than some other drs.) But, I think he tries to provide each patient the most opportunity for success.

Dr. V seemed very competent and friendly. He was patient and answered all of our questions candidly. The office staff seems very friendly and helpful. I'm looking forward to the next steps!

I got to meet my surgeon. His name is Dr. Lowe. He is really nice. He listened to all my questions and answered them without using
"Doctorese." You know the foreign language
only doctors understand! I really enjoyed our visit and look forward to seeing him again for my official pre-op meeting. The nurse that came in to speak with me was very nice as well. I felt as if I had known them both for awhile instead of just having met them.

When Dr. Lowe walked in the room, he looked very tall to me. He was very informative. He took his time about the subject and explained to me the goods and the bad about the surgery. His staff is very nice and very professional. I rate him a 10!

So far I haven't met him or talked to him yet. He did e-mail me right back after I e-mailed him and told me to call and make a appointment to come and see him. I did that today and my first appointment to see him is November 9th at 12:30. I will let you know everything and how I feel about him and all after my appointment.

I did get a chance to meet Dr. Carl Lowe and my first impression was he had a kind, warm greeting and friendly talk. He was svery nice and talk calming to me. He told me he dealt with Medicaid before so he knows what Medicaid was looking for and what they would and wouldn't take. He was very honest and kind-hearted when he explained everything to me.
