Parkway Medical Center Hospital

The nursing staff in general was ok. There were a few that were wonderful. there were two that I had to constantly push the nurse button because my IV pump was beeping. Several times it beeped as long as 5 mins or more before it was fixed. One male nurse was horrible about pain meds. I only used my pump 4 times the first day and it made me sick to my stomach so I was given codiene. On two different occasions he took over an hour to bring me any meds. He forgot the last time and I had to go home with no pain meds in me.

Loved the people before surgery and during surgery. After surgery you were forgotten. Took forever to get pain medicine. If my husband and myself had not decided I neede to get up and walk I do not know if they would have gotten me up. After the docotor came in to dismiss me it took the hospital 2 1/2 hours to do the paperwork so I could leave. Have not heard from them since I have been home. Other than having wls I would not go there again.

The reason for the poor rating on pain meds was because I didn't get any for quite some time after surgery. They told me the pharmacy was closed and it was going to take a while to get the paperwork done to get me what my surgeon prescribed. I was in agony!
The poor rating on responsiveness was just that, it took way too long for someone to come when I called for them, I was only a few feet from the nurses station and it was always at least 15-30 minutes before anyone came to my room.
