DR LEGHA IS A VERY GOOD SURGEON AND HE TALKED TO ME QUITE A BIT ABOUT THE SURGEERY. HE CARES ABOUT HIS PATIENTS ENOUGH THAT HE KEEPS YOU IN THE HOSPITAL 6 DAYS JUST TO BE SURE YOU ARE FINE AND ALSO TO MAKE SURE YOU CAN EAT YOUR FIRST MEALS WITHOUT PROBLEMS.HE MAKES FOLLOW UP APPOINTMENTS TO MAKE SURE YOU ARE DOING WELL WITH YOUR DIET AND FEELING WELL. I WOULD RECOMMEND DOCTOR LEGHA MY SURGERY WENT WELL AND I ONLY SPENT ONE NIGHT IN ICU BEFORE I WAS MOVED TO A SURGICAL FLOOR. HIS BEDSIDE MANNER WAS GOOD WORKING IN A HOSPITAL SURGEONS CAN BE VERY DISTANT BUT I DIDN'T FIND THAT WITH DR LEGHA.MY FOLLOW UP VISITS ARE SCHEDULED SO I SEE HIM EVERY MONTH FOR AWHILE AND I'M FEELING GREAT IF I HAD CONCERN THEY HAVE A BARIATRIC SURGEON ON CALL 24 HOURS A DAY TO ANSWER MY QUESTIONS. ALSO I'VE CALLED HIM JUST FOR ADVICE AND HE IS ALWAYS PROMPT IN HAVING HIS STAFF GET BACK TO ME.I HAD MY SURGERY AT SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO KAISER THE GROUP OF BARIATRIC PEOPLE THAT RUN THE PROGRAM ARE GREAT I FEEL THEY HELPED ME UNDERSTAND EVERYTHING BEFORE I HAD MY SURGERY.

When I first met Dr Wetter on Nov 15th I was very impressed by his knowledge and 'bedside manner'. I also enjoyed meeting his Surgery Coordinator, Terry. Unfortunately, it is now Dec 18th and I still don't have the Medical Necessity Letter from the transcriber.
After a long wait, my surgery is scheduled for 4/23/01! It will be performed by Dr. Wetter and assisted by his associate, Dr. Baggs.
Keep me in your prayers.

My first impression of Dr. Wetter was very positive. He was very supportive and positive. His office staff are very nice, as are his support staff. If I have questions I e-mail his program advisor and she always answers within 24 hours. I am still pre-op, and so far they are top notch.

I had my appointment with with Dr. Legha on March 6, 2001. He is a very nice doctor. He told me all I need to know about the operation and the death percent of these gastic bypasses. He stress that Kaiser was very saft and the rate was low. He been around for a while but didn't say how long. He checked me out and told me what type of surgery I would need, open or lap.. He did speak alot to me, not like the rest I hear. He ask me alot about my medical history. He like that I attends the Tuesday meetings.
Dr. Baxter, Nadia and Marina are all very nice too.
I would recommend Dr. Legha.

I met Dr. Legha, on Feb. 6, 2001. He seemed quite. He first just kind of listened to me tell him what I knew about the surgery. Then after that he kind of smiled and said well I guess you don't have any questions. I've researched so much in the past year and a half. That I think there was really nothing else for me to ask. The only concern that the dr. had for me was that I was on the diet pill Phen-phen. So he ordered a Echo for me. He said that he would rather be safe than sorry. So, I know that deep down he is a very caring person. He just seems real professional like. But over all he was great. I am so looking forward to having him doing my surgery on May 24, 2001. I have lots of faith in him. Also, there is another person that I would like to thank. That is Marina Burmen (spelling?). She was just great. Whenever I had a question and I called her she would return my phone call without making me wait forever. She is also the one that taught me that if I was patient it would all come out in the end. So, Marina if you or anyone that knows you gets a chance to read this. I would just like to say "THANK YOU".

IN OCTOBER WHEN I MET DR. WETTER HE WAS VERY NICE AND STRAIGHT FORWARD ABOUT EVERY DETAIL.
I LIKED DR.WETTER EVEN MORE BY THE END OF MY VISIT,BECAUSE HE TOOK SO MUCH TIME GOING OVER EVERY LITTLE DETAIL,NOT LIKE MOST DOCTORS I HAVE SEEN OR WORKED FOR.MY MOTHER AND SON CAME WITH ME TO AND BELIEVE ME MY MOM WAS NOT NICE ABOUT HOW SHE QUESTIONED EVERYTHING ABOUT HIM AND THE SURGURY.
HIS OFFICE STAFF SEEMS VERY NICE EVERY TIME I HAVE SPOKE WITH THEM.THE ONLY PROBLEMS THAT THERE HAS BEEN IS GETTING MY LETTER PRINTED UP AND TO THE INSURANCE.IT TOOK 2+ MONTHS OF MY PHONE CALLS TO GET TERRY AND MY INS. TOGETHER AND WITHIN A HOUR I WAS APPOVED FOR SURGURY.AND THEN IN JANUARY I HAD A DATE FOR THE 2ND OF APRIL.MILLS HOSPITAL HAS A VERY GOOD PROGAM FROM TOP TO BOTTOM,SUPPORT GROUP TO GYM TO THE DOCTORS AND ALSO THE NURSES.THEY COVER EVERYTHING THAT IS NEEDED BEFORE AND AFTER.

Well, my first impression of Dr Legha was wow what a serious man. Not much humor. But after a couple of times I realized Dr Legha had lots of humor in a quiet way, a wonderful man very professional, very caring. The bariatric staff at South San Francisco, Ca Kaiser is incrediable. Their is Gitty, Nadia, Marina all so helpful. They are like are second Mom's. They are their no matter what day or what time. They have a great support system. It's like a great big family. Aftercare is very important and they encourage us to attend the support meetings, it's part of the bargin we make when we except the operation. Aftercare is very structured, meetings every Tuesday, 3rd Sat of every month. Great meetings lots of information and lots of support. Plenty of love for all. Dr Legha tells it just like it is about the risks, makes it very clear what complications can occur. He does it in a very professional manner. He doesn't scare you by any means, he just makes it clear but also takes many precautions to help them not to happen. I rate him a 10. He is a very competent surgeon. He is a quiet man so his beside manners are very soft and polite. He's great all the way around. Quiet, polite and so caring. Thanks Dr Legha for all you have done.

I had sugery with Dr.Wetter on Jan.22,2001.
I liked him,he is very BLUNT.If you can't handle that type of person, don't go.
I found he has a great sense of humor, and he visited me regularly while I was in the hospital. He explains the whole procedure cleanly and honestly.
His office staff is great,Terri, who handles your insurance is an angel, and God forbid she is out sick, she in my opinion,is the back bone of that office.
One more thing about Dr.Wetter.
If you smoke,STOP.He won't tolerate it ! I know,I had to quit.
