Olathe Medical Center Hospital
As a nurse myself, I know how important the above questions are. I had no problems with Olathe Medical Center. The staff were wonderful, room was wonderful, procedure from start (day surgery) to discharge was excellent. My only concern was the cleanliness of the hospital. Spills were not cleaned up, and I did not see a housekeeper in my room to mop the floor the 48 hours of my stay. I would recommend OMC to others for the treatment of WLS.
This was one of the best hospitals I've ever seen.
The staff was to a person friendly and kind to me. The floor staff worked 12 hour shifts so they had time to get to know you and your needs. They answered call lights within seconds and were right in the room with whatever you wanted. O.R. staff, Radiology, PT and OT seemed genuinely interested in me and knew what they were doing. Even had visits by Marsha, the Bariatric program coordinator, and several hospital staff who had the procedure.
The hospital even brought in a new bariatric bed for me (extra tall). The only minor issue was when I was leaving no one could turn up a wide wheelchair. I gave up and walked from my room to the car which was probably better for me.
I highly recommend this hospital without any hesitation!
