. The new surgery wing on the second floor is nice. Not much privacy with the desk in the middle of the waiting room and your name being screamed out. But once in the back area, the nurse and staff there was great. It was the best most positive experience. The nurse very reassuring and informative. Recovery room was also excellent. What I remember about the staff, I was a Lil out of it, they were great. Semiprivate room with an extremely sick patient wasn't too good. So it wasn't quiet but I understand staff has to treat the patient. The room setup is ok. I only stayed 1 night and that was good for that time.

The surgeon was great. The care after surgery was horrible. Their responsw to my complaints was horrible. I was placed in a semi private room with another man (he was not in for surgery) and his family. The family was very nice but I was really upset about the level of privacy and Ochsner staff did not care. In fact one of the nurses had a sarcastic attitude about my complaints. I cannot recommend Ochsner hospital.

Loved my surgeon and his staff. I had a weird experiance in my hospital room while I was sleeping invoving a nurses aid and I just happen to wake up while she was making her face up in my room and dropped a bottle of colonge and swore like a sailor all with me laying saying to myself "this is not really happening or shes got ballz the size of texas!" and no she never apologized or stoped even. It was like I wasnever even there!

The surgery was perfect, no complications and even left the hospital after only one night. The hopital was just ok.....the recovery room that night was awesome, those nurses were rockin'. Then the next moring they take me to a room and blah, from there. I asked for a private and was pretty much SOL there. The room they put me in had another patient, no biggie I guessed, but then I got to my bed and the dirty sheets from the previous patient was still on the floor....gross. My new nurse was aggravated that I was getting in this room only to leave in a few hours....excuse me I'm still a paying patient. I complained about the laundry on the floor and was told she would get to it. Everything I needed seemed to take forever. I was told I could leave after I had my broth for lunch. I was excited about that. Only thing is lunch never came, and now it was dinner time......dinner never came. I was so ready to leave. I sent my DH three times to get lunch/dinner. Finally the nurse went in the lounge to get a couple of items for me to eat. Is this sad or what. I bet those meals are on my bill. I finally swigged the broth down and flew the coup. I couldn't wait to get out of there.
My only two wishes is that the wait wouldn't be so long, the wait in this place is crazy, and that they were closer to my home.

Very clean and all staff are friendly. The set up can be confusing sometimes with the way the building is built.
