Dr. Wetter has been fantastic! He's exuberant, helpful and obviously a very skilled surgeon! I picked him out for his experience not knowing what to expect of him as a person. Now that I'm post op I can't say enough good about him. My surgery was positively smooth sailing for me and I know it's because he's so good at this.

His staff (Donna and Yvette especially) are a wonder. How they get so much done and still manage to give you a smile and call you back everytime you call is beyond me but THANK YOU!! And Yvette... special kudos to you for working through a tough insurance mess.

By the way... he's easy as pie to deal with - just do what he asks and all will go well - especially the pre-surgery weight loss! He asked me to spread the word - here I am spreading it 'round! Thanks again Dr. Wetter!!

I met with Dr Wetter in early December, and found him to be informative, cordial, and confident. His office staff represents his qualities well. He spent close to an hour with me and my wife explaining the surgery, discussing life long implications, and answering questions. I was very impressed with his manner, and actually felt toward the end that I was taking advantage of his kindness and that it was time to end the appointment. After my appt with him, I met with Donna DeKay; she is the Dietician in the office, and the Bariatric Surgery coordinator. She too was very likable, while being very professional, and informative.

From the moment she walked into the examination room I was confident in her and not nervous. She is candid and straightforward. She answered every question and was very helpful in understanding how the Lap-Band works.

Dr. Wetter seems to be very calm and matter-of-fact. He seems capable, and has done many lap RNYs. I did not feel like he was in a hurry- my husband and I had lots of questions, and he took lots of time to answer them. His office seems really busy (I think he shares the office and staff with other doctors who have other specialties).

Whay can I say about Dr Wetter except he is a wonderful surgeon. My Doctor said I needed the surgery but only if I used Dr wetter. Let me tell you he is a tough cookie. If you do not follow the rules and are not sincere he knows. He tells it to you straight and if your serious it is not a big deal but a help and boost. After surgery he was so kind and caring. I was given a stuffed Frog while in the hospital and when he came in he asked if the Frog was ready to go home. I always knew what to expect and what was happening and what I could not do. It has helped me to be a success since May 17th I am down 100 pounds. I have not one complaint about his office staff or him and I loved the care at the Burlingame hospital. I was so cared for.
Thanks to you all.

I finally met Dr. Foster...what a nice lady! She was very informative, very knowlegable, eager to answer my questions. She told me what she expected of me and I hope to make her proud!

Dr. Foster is an artistic genius. Lap RNY is her art and she has perfected it. I have had the best experience with her. She personifies everything that a doctor should be -- attentive, thoughtful, patient, and an utmost professional. She takes her profession very seriously so don't consult with her without doing your homework. She will want a 10% weight loss, that is in your best interest and hers. I really believe that. If you are not serious about this, don't show up to the plate, or at least don't bother showing up at "her plate." She expects as much out of you as she expects from herself (and she demands a lot of herself). She is 100% dedicated to you both pre-op and post-op, but especially post-op. She encourages emails, communication, and regular visits. She has a great post-op program. I highly recommend Dr. Foster.

Doctor Foster is AWESOME! I had heard from a friend who had the surgery that she ws great but that was an understatement. Dr. Foster never seems rushed, always takes time to answer all questions (if you have any after she explains everything). My first impression was that she was great, it has changed to AWESOME. Dr. Foster explained every aspect of the surgery, pre, post, and life after surgery in a easily understoon manner, no doctor talk... . She explained all of the risks, and the benifits of the surgery. I am so thankful that I had her do my surgery. I think her bedside manner and surgical skills are probably equal, I'd do it again tomorrow if I had to! In fact, she laughed at me and said that the morphine was talking when the morning after surgery she walked into my room, I'd already wallked all of the hallways and was looking for more places to wal, and I told her that "I feel great". She said I didn't look that great, I guess my eyes were a little morphine glazed.

If you are in Northern CA... . She's a great doctor!

June 2005: Dr. Foster is honest and serious when she says to lose some weight. I lost 13.5 lbs. in 5 weeks and was rewarded with a surgeery date. I am elated. My insurance coverage went through, I know in part, due to her competent staff's work with the company. I appreciate all they are doing for me.

The 1st time I met Dr. Foster I found her to be very friendly and sensitive. She spent over an hour with me explaining benefits and risks of WLS, answering questions, etc.
My impression has never changed. She is fairly strict about compliance, but she only wants the best outcomes for you.
The office staff are friendly and helpful, although they are very busy.
Dr. Foster is pretty strict about trying to achieve about 10% weight loss before surgery because it puts you in a healthier state (liver and heart) pre-op. As much as this may seem like an un-necessary chore, the ultimate goal is to have the surgery and a healthy recovery.
After care and extended follow-up are needed and Dr. Foster is very much into long-term follow-up and research of WLS. For the 1st year you are seen at 7 days post-op, then 1 month, 3 month, 6 month, 1 year, then annual. And of course, you would see her if there are any problems or concerns. Also, periodic lab work is done too.
Dr. Foster is great and I would give her a 10 out of 10 rating.
