Methodist Weight Management Institute Hospital
Methodist Dallas is a Center of Excellence. All of the staff that took care of me were very professional & attended to my every need. The Bariatrics Coordinator, Jan Stone, even came to visit me both before & after surgery. She even called my home the day after I went home. It was difficult to know where to go in this hospital because they keep adding on to it. Be sure you pick up a Visitors Guide when you arrive.
First impression; very nice, professional, caring. I really like this guy, feel very comfortable with him and all his staff are equally nice. Look forward to having Dr. Barnes do my surgery. Went through a small battle with Cigna, but Dr. Barnes did a peer to peer review and I got approved. I am so happy. Again, very nice man who takes the time to talk to you where you don't feel like a number, He is to the point and tells you what you need to know. I like his style!

One of the best decisions I have made in my life. Dr. Barnes was recommended by many nurses my wife works with, she is also a nurse, at Baylor Hospital Ft Worth. Dr. Barnes is straight-forward, unpretentious, down-to-earth, and compassionate. I had my surgery 12/2010 and weighed 337 lbs then I reduced my weight to 220 lbs 5/2011. I have my life back and my weight fluctuates +/- 10 lbs. I no longer require any regular medication for blood pressure or cholesterol. 2 years plus with normal healthy check ups. The aftercare provided will keep you on track and the staff is always available for questions and concerns.

My experience with Methodist Dallas/ Weight Management Institute has been remarkable and blessed. From the initial phone call I received from a lady named Tammy Beaumont until today. I have never felt unwelcomed, unwanted or uncared for. My surgeon Dr. Preeti Malladi and her staff are very caring and attentive. They have gone above and beyond to meet my care needs. The weight institute staff was the biggest blessing. They walked me thru this entire process, from classes, to support group, to scheduling, nutrition issues, even holding my hand surgery morning. I was never so glad to see Jan come thru the door. The hospital staff was very nice and tho sleeping was not easy ( constant checks) lol It was great to know someone was going to come in and check on me. I highly recommend these professional very astute individuals for your health and life care needs. Everyone's experience is different but personally I felt the overall experience has been phenomenal. Join a support group listen to the advice of others but make your own INFORMED decisions. I am much more informed and knowledgeable about my new lifestyle. And I know I can always reach out to the staff for help and or support.Support group day is my favorite day of the month!!! I encourage folks to research their facility, talk to others, and gain as much knowledge as you can before hand. I wish you all the best in your endeavors and new healthy living lifestyle.
I like that he was straight-forward with all his answers and was very professional. He made me feel like I was the only patient he had every time I had to visit him. The day of my surgery, the tech in the pre-op room told me, "you have the best doctor." She was right! Dr. Barnes did a great job, I felt wonderful and 4 years later, I still feel wonderful.
If you want a trusting, competent doctor, who knows what he is doing, and does it well, go to Dr. Barnes. You will be glad you did.

I absolutely love Dr. Barnes. When you have your first office visit with him, he's a little intimidating. But over time, I realized that he's just a straight forward and blunt person. He's gonna tell you how it is whether you want to hear it or not. Now that I've gotten to know him better, he's an absolutely wonderful man. He genuinely cares about his patients and wants them to succeed. His office staff is the greatest staff I've ever met. They are always nice and polite and willing to help you in any way. The program in his office is great. Everyone meets with a dietician and a psychiatrist. After surgery, you will continue to attend classes with both of these people who will teach you what to expect in the upcoming weeks. They are very informative and caring.
Overall I would rate this office a 10 (on a scale from 1 to 10). If they can put up with my moodiness and continue to be so nice, they are the greatest in my book.
