Methodist Hospital Arcadia Hospital
Seems sincere, honest and yes he's very tall. The morning of my surgery, Dr. Lamar came over to say hello, He was wearing a suit and tie. Wow! Overtime, Dr. Lamar does care about his patients. Yes he does provide a structured after care program. He does provide the risks during the symposium. When you meet with he does address concerns and stuff. I highly recommend Dr. Lamar. I'm sure the other doctors in his staff are great too.rnrnAs for the staff they are friendly. Watch out for the Nurse, she'll get on you about your protien intake, just make sure u get your protein in and know how much grams of protein u intake per day. Shannon is a doll. Lori, the nutritionist, I love her. She's great! She's very friendly, very postitive and motivational person. She knows her stuff. I can call her whenever I have questions about my nutrition.rnrnMy bf says I'm saying this because I'm regreting my surgery.rnrn

Dr. LaMar was my surgeon. My first impression of him was his height as others have mentioned. He is very professional, friendly, and thorough with any questions that you have. He took my questions seriously and was helpful in reassuring me with any doubts or issues that I was having. His office staff is extremely helpful and have always gotten back to me with any questions that I have had. I would definitely recommend Dr. LaMar and his staff to others.
So far, I really like Dr. Doraiswamy. He seems to care and took a lot of time to answer all of my questions and give me advice without pushing one type of surgery over another. He is young, but I have a good feeling about him. I just received insurance approval and am waiting to schedule!!! Will update my review throughout my journey.
First Impression: sincere and \"on the ball\"rnrnOver time: The same...easy to talk to, he answered all of my questions. He took his time with me to explain the procedures.rnrnOffice Staff: Never had a problem with them. rnrnWhat I liked least about Dr. La Mar: NothingrnrnFuture patients: ask questions! any questions.rnrnAfter care: visit at 6 weeks, 6 months and then a year as long as everything is ok. Support Groups are very month at the hospital. All are encouraged to attend.rnrnRisks of Surgery: was covered and talked about rnrnOverall rating: 10 no problems...really!rnrnSurgical competence vs bedside manner: Surgical competence...however his bedside manner was good as well.rnrnrn

At my first visit, I thought Dr Lamar was very knowledgeable. He has a lot of experience in this type of surgery. He was very clear about risks and explained the surgery process clearly. After waiting for the surgery for 6 months (something came up in one of my pre-op tests that I needed to take care of first), the office still tracked my chart etc.rn rnI was very impressed with Dr Lamar's care while I was in the hospital. The surgery went smoothly and I am grateful! I would rate this surgeon 5 stars. rnrnThe office staff is very helpful, and they sure are organized. Dr Lamar Office has the full spectrum of after care, they have a nutritionist on staff to answer any questions etc. and support groups, and nurses to answer any question one might have.rnrn

I met Dr Lamar when I was late to the required symposium. I asked if I could still come in and told him I had gotten lost \"twice\". He asked where I had driven from and snuck me in the back of room. He’s tall, with puppy dog eyes. Weeks later I met with him in the office with my hubby. Dr Lamar again was relaxed and took his time with us. Linda is the Bariatric Coordinator. Id says she probably runs the place. We met with her at the same appointment. She explains the processes and gives all the stuff for all the pre-op requirements. I was able to set up my Nutrition and Psych Eval on the same day in the office. It was very convenient since Im driving far to see this group.rnrnAnyone considering this Surgical group should start with their Symposium. All three physicians are there. Im sure Dr Lamar will stick out. He just has that presence.rnrnThe whole program is structured. At the symposium you are given a black folder with information on surgeries, hospital and supplements. This folder goes with you to all your appointments, with nutritionist etc. Linda will give you plenty of paperwork, one of it being a cheat sheet to mark dates and places of all your appointments. Its has been recommended more than once to attend their support groups which are set up by time since you surgery.rnrnRisks or surgery was addressed at the symposium and personally at my first office visit.rnrnSo far im pretty happy with the process.rnrnDefiantly competence is more important but bedside manner is a close second. Even if your surgeon is great the experience will be much better they care. Im not 100% sure but I think Dr Lamar’s mom had GBSrnrnrnrnrnrnrn
