Memorial Medical Center Springfield Hospital
I was given a private room and was not disturbed unless it was for a medical reason. The hallways were busy but with the door shut it was quiet enough to rest. The staff was above excellent. They knew what they were doing and obviously had taken care of many WLS patients. They were quick to respond to my needs, concerns, and always asked if they could do anything else for me. The hospital has also just been designated a Center of Excellence. I thought the staff was great and that the hospital was well equiped too. I would not hesitate to use their services.

THE ONLY COMPLAINT I HAD WAS 2ND SHIFT STAFF WAS EXCELLENT-SEEMED LIKE THEY CARED AND WERE MORE KNOWLEDGEABLE. 3RD SHIFT NEEDED TO LOOK AT THE CHARTS A LITTLE BETTER BECAUSE MEDICATION WAS STOPPED AND THEY TRIED TO GIVE IT TO ME ANYWAY THERE WAS A COUPLE OF PEOPLE ON DAY SHIFT THAT SEEMED TO KNOW ABOUT GASTRIC BYPASS SURGERIES.
Memorial has dedicated several beds on the second floor, general wing to bariatric patients. These are private rooms that are bigger and more spacious, have larger chairs etc. The staff on this floor have been speically trained to care for the special needs of bariatric patients. There was no question too silly, nothing they wouldn't help you with. They were prompt when answering the call bell and made sure that you were comfortable yet still made sure that you were up and moving in accordance with the post surgical routine. Excellent hosptial. Excellent staff.
