Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital Hospital
Dr. Husted's assistant (Michelle McGuire), the anesthesiologist, and everyone who came in to see me in surgery prep, along with those doing my pre-op testing, were absolutely fantastic! They were kind, made me comfortable, and put me at complete ease.
In recovery I remember being scared and apparently they were busy because I kept holler for help and no one would come to me!! I'd never had surgery before and didn't know what to expect, so I think it was more of a me needing to be comforted kinda thing- and there was no one there.
Once I was in a room in TCU the nurse working (don't remember her name) was awful! My husband ended up complaining on her. It took her 3 hours to get me on a pain pump and THEN, while "hooking up" the pump, she stopped several times to make comments about the show that was on TV. That was, by far, my worst experience there.
I was moved to ICU, then back to TCU, and EVERYONE was phenomenal!! They got me everything I wanted, gave me meds to help me feel better, made sure I had clean linens... the stay was very pleasant, and overall I'd give the hospital 5 stars!
The Hospital staff is fantastic. They were accomodating and caring every step of the way. They treated me like a person not a number. I remember Sean the anesthesioligist just before my surgery...who is a big Teddy Bear. When I came out I remember the nurses and CNA's that were constantly monitoring and taking care of me. There was Paula, Patience, Billy, Danielle, Pauline....and others. Even Robin, the lady that cleaned my room every day. Every single one of them treated me as if I were someone in their family. My husband who was with me constantly was equally impressed to the care given.
