Kaiser Fremont Medical Center Hospital

My first impression of Dr. Chu was that she is extremely professional and knowledable. I felt comfortable. Overtime, I began to see her, not just as my surgeon, but as a person. She's a wife, a mom and a very caring person. rnrnKaiser Fremont is an extremely busy office. The are short staffed and over whelmed. The wait times can be frustrating. Getting an actual person on the phone can be frustrating. I have also felt at times the front desk staff was slightly unproffesional.rnrnOverall, I would give Dr. Chu a 10 out of 10. I loved having her as my surgeon.

My doctor was great. When I first met him I was kind of surprised at how young he looked which always makes you wonder if they have much experience. He was awesome. He explained everything to me and told me all of the pro's and con's and always made me feel comfortable and at ease. I would highly reccommend him to anybody who is thinking about having surgery. Kaiser prpeares you very much before they will even operate you and it was lucky enough to have gone through their program. My after program is great meet with him at 2, 4 and 6 weeks then i have a schedule after that.

My first impression was that he was very thorough in his questions and spent a lot of time with me. When I told him I was preferring the LapBand procedure, he told me that it was not his favorite choice of surgery, and he gave me all his reasons for believing that the LapBand was not as safe and effective as the Roux-N-Y. He said he has had to take our some patients bands due to problems, and that basically, with the gastric bypass, there is nothing foreign placed in the body. We've only met once, and I am within 9 pounds of my goal weight. The staff was very nice, including the front desk receptionist and the nutritionist. There was nothing that I disliked, but if you're wanting the LapBand, I don't think Dr. Hahn is a supporter of this choice, for his own professional reasons. Because it was our first meeting, we didn't discuss in detail the aftercare program, but did discuss the risks of surgery. He seems to be very professional and considerate.

I liked Dr. Chu a lot. Right away I felt that I was ingood hands. She was straight forward, but had a warm side that I feel I have messed from a lot of doctors. She was understanding and made my family feel confortable the day of the surgery. I only stayed one night in the hospital and have had no complications, so I think she did a great job.

Dr. Chu was fantastic when I was going through the program, but when it came down to the last few stages and the surgery I felt like cattle she just wanted to get done with. Even while in the hospital I had some concerns that she did not achknowledge. She just was very condescending. Before the surgery I would have reccomended her 100%, she was fantastic.
